At Kamari, just 50metres away from the black beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, blue flag awarded, it is located the environmentally friendly hotel Hippocampus, which in its turn is awarded with the Green Key®, a worldwide eco-label.
It is built in an area of 2,500 sq.m. surrounded by greenery. Our family business hotel has a large pool which is measured daily and used environmentally friendly products.

All rooms have balconies overlooking the sea, pool or gardens, which are composed of native plants that do not require much water, fruit trees and vines. We offer breakfast with organic products from Santorini or bio from our own cultivation and we have reduced into minimum plastic containers.

We recommend to our guests to participate in our environmental activities by showing us when they want us to change their sheets and towels in order to rid the environment of unnecessary use of detergents. Also, the renewal of personal hygiene products is available on request to avoid excessive use of plastic containers.

For cleaning we use environmentally friendly products and of course we contribute to recycling.

As we are committed to the environment we are trying to preserve our natural resources therefore all winter we collect rainwater in specially designed tanks that we use for various needs of the hotel.

Hippocampus Hotel is in the center of Kamari, near the bus station and within walking distance anyone can find what is needed: doctor, pharmacy, bank, market, restaurants, bars, open air cinema.

There are also diving schools for lovers of depth, bicycle rentals for fans of explorations, guided hiking and climbing routes for those who love the altitude, horse riding, and many other activities.
